Aga Khan Academy Renewable Scholarship

A $90,000 scholarship, payable at $22,500 annually over four years, will be awarded to an academically exceptional overseas student who transitions directly from an Aga Khan Academy to the University of Victoria for an undergraduate degree program. Permanent residents and Canadian citizens are not eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of their academic performance, community service, and leadership and commitment to the school. The applicant’s financial need will also be considered.

  • To be considered, you must:
  • Obtain admission to Victoria University
  • Commence your initial undergraduate program.
  • Have an exceptional academic record, with a minimum of 32 IB points or an A average.
  • Possess a valid study permit and an international student visa.
  • Adhere to the academic and English proficiency standards established by UVic.

Award for Student Refugees

Undergraduate students who are presently not receiving funding from the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) and meet one of the Refugee Application Class criteria and have protected person or permanent residency status are eligible to receive one or more grants, with a range of $500 to $2,000.

The applicant must submit a letter that confirms their status as a refugee or protected person. The Manager of International Student Advising should be the source. This grant is available to students who are enrolled part-time and have completed a minimum of 6.0 units. Students who are in their first year of study at WUSC and are receiving financial aid are ineligible.

East China Normal University Renewable Scholarship

A $20,000 bursary, payable annually at $5,000, will be awarded to an academically exceptional international undergraduate student from the No. 2 Secondary School, which is affiliated with East China Normal University, who is pursuing a degree at the University of Victoria.

Note: A scholarship recipient will be recommended by No. 2 Secondary School, which is affiliated with East China Normal University.

Upon completion of 12 or more academic units in two terms, a student’s co-op or work-experience registration will be automatically renewed, provided that they maintain a grade point average of 7.50 or higher during such terms.

A student’s scholarship may be forfeited if they fail to enroll in any academic units, cooperative education, work experience/work term, or work experience during one or more terms.

International IB Scholarship

Suppose that international students complete the International Baccalaureate program with a minimum of 32 IB points and submit their interim and final IB scores to Undergraduate Admissions by March 15th. In that event, they will be eligible to be considered for an entrance scholarship.

University of Victoria International Entrance Scholarship

One or more scholarships valued at a minimum of $5,000 are awarded to academically exceptional international students who are enrolled in the University of Victoria’s first year of an undergraduate degree program.
