Alberta PNP Job in Canada 2024 – Immigration Guide

The majority of the AAIP provincial nomination streams require an employment offer from an Alberta company. The Alberta government has recently implemented new requirements for Alberta firms that wish to support the nomination of their international employees.

Alberta Employer Requirements For AAIP

  • Offer you a profession that is in accordance with the organization’s operations.
  • Must be registered or incorporated in either Alberta or Canada.
  • Operated in Alberta for a minimum of two fiscal years.
  • Have a minimum gross annual operating revenue of $400,000 in the most recent fiscal year.
  • A minimum of three full-time personnel (or full-time equivalents; contractors are not taken into account) is required.

In the event that the company is unable to demonstrate three full-time employees or does not have a cumulative revenue of at least $400,000, its employees are still eligible to submit for nomination. Nevertheless, they are required to comply with the following conditions:

  • After two years of operation, Alberta permits a maximum of one employee nomination.
  • The maximum number of employee nominations is two, which is equivalent to three years of business in Alberta.
  • The employer has the capacity to offer assistance to an additional employee for nomination for each year of business in Alberta.

The Alberta PNP officer is required to contact the employer in order to provide the following documentation to the worker who is applying for Alberta nomination, in addition to the traditional job offer and employment reference letter that have always been required for Alberta PNP:

Proof of recruitment is required for any positions in which the foreign worker is not currently employed. This evidence must be comparable to the information necessary for an application for an LMIA. In a broad sense, this should be interpreted as requiring the employer to advertise the position on job banks and two additional recruitment sites that specifically target underrepresented groups for a minimum of one month at the current pay rate in the specific region of Alberta. The nomination from Alberta will only be approved in these circumstances if the company can provide evidence that no qualified Canadians applied for the position.

The program’s assumption that the employer in Alberta will provide confidential tax information is a more significant cause for concern.

Requirements

  • Work is performed by independent contractors, owner/operators, or temp agencies.
  • Work for a home-based enterprise (with several restrictions under the Alberta EE stream).
  • Employed outside of Alberta.
