Requirements

In order to submit an application for scholarships, you must:

  • Have successfully completed 12 or more units of regular graded courses at SFU.
  • Enroll in a minimum of 12 units of conventional, graded SFU courses during the application period.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 at SFU.

Audit, Challenge, and Credit-free courses are not considered.

The enrollment criterion cannot be satisfied by enrolling in a 3-unit Co-op term, as it is not a routinely graded course.

A student is eligible to apply for scholarships if they are enrolled in a minimum of 6 or more units of standard graded courses and meet all other eligibility criteria. At the time of application, the applicant must submit a letter from SFU’s Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) verifying their enrollment.

The SFU entrance award allows the recipient to apply for any additional university-sponsored scholarships.

Until the entrance scholarship has been fully paid, an SFU entrance scholarship holder is ineligible for any other university-sponsored awards. This policy applies to any term in which an admission scholarship is postponed.

Native American pupils are the sole recipients of certain financial assistance. The term “Indigenous peoples of Canada” is a context-specific term that refers to the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people.
