University of Twente Scholarships 2024 – International Students

The UTS scholarship is available to deserving candidates from non-EU/EEA nations who wish to pursue an MSc degree at the University of Twente. Students who receive this scholarship are eligible to become members of the UT community of exceptionally talented students.

Additionally, they may be granted the distinctive opportunity to participate in the selection process for one of the three honors programs: Research Honors, Design Honors, or Change Leaders.

In the second year of their two-year study program, a student may be eligible for an additional UTS scholarship that is equivalent to the first year’s grant. This scholarship is intended to assist with living expenses. Nevertheless, to qualify for the scholarship in the second year, students must satisfy the eligibility criteria for UTS. After the third quartile of the first year, these requirements entail earning a minimum of fifty percent of European credits and achieving an average grade of seven out of ten.

Qualifications for admission:

To qualify for a University of Twente scholarship, you must satisfy each of the following criteria:

  • The application procedure for a UT scholarship is distinct from the application process for course admission to the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, it is imperative to first obtain an admission letter.
  • You have been provisionally admitted to one of the qualified UT Master programs, effective September of the academic year 2023/2024. It may take up to eight weeks to receive the results after submitting your application. Please be advised.
  • A student number is required.
  • You are not a graduate of a UT graduate program.
  • Additionally, you satisfy the necessary conditions (if any) for obtaining a visa to enter the Netherlands.
  • You satisfy the prerequisites for the comprehensive English language test. Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the speaking skills subscore
  • In the Netherlands, you are ineligible for a study loan.
  • An incentive for exceptional pupils is the University Twente award. This typically suggests that you are in the top 5–10% of your class.

How to Apply:

Initially, you must apply for a master’s program. Upon submitting an application to a Master’s program and receiving a (conditional) admission letter, you may utilize your student number to apply for the scholarship. Dutch and/or matriculated UT students are ineligible for UTS. A student from the EU or EEA is not permitted to enroll in the UTS.

The UTS is not available for master’s programs in the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC). The UTS is not accessible through the pre-master program.
