Job Description 

  • In this position, candidates are responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the updates of regulations, policies, and incentives that are designed to enhance resilience and promote decarbonization through the implementation of standards.
  • Additionally, they are obligated to serve as a strategic program designer for both new and extant buildings, working in conjunction with the Building Division.
  • In collaboration with Community Planning personnel, individuals who submitted applications for this position are responsible for incorporating climate mitigation and adaptation into the updates of the Official Community Plan, Zoning Bylaw, and Neighbourhood Concept Plans.
  • Additionally, they are responsible for providing general advice and expertise to inform community-scale renewable energy programs, which includes liaising with BC Hydro regarding supply and distribution considerations for electrification. This responsibility was applied to this position.
